My partner is a Landscape gardner & at present works for a company. He would like to set up on his own?

My partner is fed up of working for other people & would be so much happier working for himself. However as he works full time & sees his children every other weekend he is very limited in how much spare time he has. It would be a big risk for him to just leave his job in the hope that his own business would be successful. Can anyone suggest anything? He would love to get out of his job working for someone else. He enjoys being a landscape gardner & is very good with all aspects of DIY also. Can someone please help us out here? I need some ideas as he is very down at the moment.

Your partner should seriously consider the short course i run for adults in starting a small business & business planning. this seems ideal as your partner can study it from home around work and other commitments, and would cover issues like funding, finances and breaking even, market research, the product or service, marketing and adveritisng.
